About the project
Realidades Sociales was born as a visual exercise: representing Rome without falling into the postcard cliché. Instead of seeking out monuments, I decided to look at the city from the most direct angle: its faces.
The series builds portraits of people from different social classes, ages, and backgrounds, with their everyday environments, streets, jobs, neighborhoods, routines. Five perspectives that show how very different realities coexist within the same city just a few meters apart.
The process blends Generative AI + Photoshop with photography: the faces are integrated into generated scenes and adjusted to maintain a coherent, documentary visual language. The goal wasn't to invent Rome, but to condense it: capturing its contrasts with respect, closeness, and detail.
